
One of the 7 Wonders of the world is the Colossus.
It was built as a thanks offering to Apollo after the raising of the siege in 304 BC, the Bronze statue stood at the entrance to the harbour of Rhodes and was similar in scale to the Statue of Liberty in New York, which was inspired by the reputation of the ancient Colossus.
